Clinical significance of SAM68 in lung cancer was previously suggested by studies showing upregulation of KHDRBS1 transcript (which encodes SAM68) or SAM68 protein levels in NSCLC or lung adenocarcinoma cancerous tissues [37,39,40,41]; however, association with poor outcome of patients with adenocarcinoma was only shown for high KHDRBS1 transcript levels. This evidence concerns the gene KHDRBS1 and lung carcinoma.
