Lin et al. developed a new model that allows the temporally and spatially controlled expression of Myc in pancreatic progenitors and derived lineages of exocrine cells The authors demonstrated that upregulation of Myc alone led to the initiation of ductal precursor lesions and the formation of ductal adenocarcinomas after a short latency [29]. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is invasive ductal breast carcinoma.
