IL-17 is a strong inflammatory factor, that can activate T cells and stimulate endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and fibroblasts to induce inflammation in TA, and IL-17 also has a synergistic effect with TNF-α, and upregulates IL-6 expression to jointly regulate the inflammatory response (21).The increased IL-6 and IL-17 expression seen in our active TA patients suggested that the inflammatory cytokines secreted by Th17 were involved in the development of TA. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is Takayasu arteritis.
