Indeed, we found that SPG7, PPIF, and CCDC58 physically interact with each other and that several SARS-CoV-2 viral proteins, including M protein, ORF3a, ORF9b and 9C, ORF10 and NSP6, bind to mPTP complex proteins (Figure 4) suggesting a likely involvement in COVID-19-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and cell death (Figure 7).
