In p53-mutant glioma, zinc finger DHHC-Type palmitoyltransferase 5 (ZDHHC5) is transcriptionally upregulated and mediates EZH2 palmitoylation, which affects methyltransferase activity of EZH2 and causing trimethylation of histone 3 at lysine 27 (H3K27me3 level) decreased, and then contributes to malignancy and tumor progression (Chen X. et al., 2017). Here, ZDHHC5 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
