This suggests that ADAM23 may induce a feedback mechanism involving GPX4, SLC7A11, and SLC3A2, which inhibits ferroptosis and that this feedback mechanism may not reverse the ADAM23-induced depletion of GPX4, SLC7A11, and SLC3A2, ultimately leading to ferroptosis in ESCC cells.
