A study by Yang et al. [58] assessed possible serum biomarker for predicting the therapeutic effect of MSC therapy in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and found out that MSCT resulted in a transient increase in serum IFN-γ (> 2 pg/ml), promoted an increase in IL-10 levels and the Treg/Th17 ratio, and decrease DAS28, the decreased value at the 12-week was closely related to the increase in IFN-γ level. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and rheumatoid arthritis.
