For liver cancer, Lee et al.37, 38find that loss or inactivation of APOB in hepatocellular carcinoma is significantly associated with poor survival of HCC patients, whereas another group finds that elevated APOB predicts poor prognosis after surgery in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma,39 indicating that there is no consensus on the role of APOB in predicting the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. The gene discussed is APOB; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
