Knowing this, recent studies have shown that some bacterial cell surface proteins can provide significant protection against Brucella, such as L7/L12 (72), Omp19, Omp31 (73), BP26 (74), and Omp25 (75, 76), which have been shown to be immunodominant antigens that stimulate host immunity and trigger a protective response against infection in a mouse model. This evidence concerns the gene SYNJ2BP and infection.
