Out of 252 T1D patients tested for the presence of autoantibodies against GAD65 (GADA) and tyrosine phosphatase-related islet antigen 2 (IA2A), GADA was present in 128 (50.79%) patients while IA2A was detected in 40 patients (15.87%) (Table 1). The gene discussed is GAD2; the disease is type 1 diabetes mellitus.
