More recently, a genome-wide analysis uncovered that high expression and hypomethylation of Fam20C were correlated with poor prognosis in hypoxia-related lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), in which hypoxia condition promoted FAM20C gene expression, making Fam20C a potential biomarker of LUAD (Li et al., 2020).
