FABP4 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: It was indicated that HSD further restrained the fatty acid metabolism process in T2DM mice involving oxidation synthesis, transport and lipolysis as demonstrated by altered expression levels of related genes, including carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A (Cpt1a), hormone sensitive lipase (Hsl), fatty triglyceride lipase (Atgl), fatty acid binding protein 4 (Fabp4), acetyl-CoA carboxylase α (Accα), and fatty acid synthase (Fasn) (Figures 3A,B).
