HIF1A and hypertensive disorder: The activation of HIF-1 by OSAHS resulted in an imbalance of gene expression of pro-oxidant and antioxidant enzymes, increased the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and further promoted the transcription of some genes which were unfavorable to the cardiovascular system, such as endothelin-1 gene, induced arterial inflammation, and vascular remodeling, which led to hypertension.
