BRCA1 and breast cancer: In a cohort of 32,295 females with BRCA1/BRCA2 P/LP variants, Rebbeck et al. [25] identified 93 women with BRCA1/BRCA2-MINAS and reported that although there was no significant difference in the mean age at breast cancer diagnosis between BRCA1 only pathogenic variant and the BRCA1/BRCA2 MINAS women, there was an earlier age at breast cancer diagnosis (~4.5 years less) and increased incidence of ovarian cancer in women with BRCA1/BRCA2 MINAS compared to BRCA2 pathogenic variant carriers.
