CD4 and atherosclerosis: Interestingly, the proportion of CD4 T cells among spleen T cells was strongly, significantly, and positively related to the LDL and (total cholesterol) TCHO concentration in the blood, while CD8T was strongly, significantly, and negatively related to the LDL and TCHO concentration in blood bilirubin (Fig. 4E), indicating that spleen CD4 T cells are positively associated with atherosclerosis.
