Neurodegenerative tauopathies are a group of dementia and movement disorders that are characterized as abundant accumulations of filaments assembled by microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT), which includes AD, frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), corticobasal syndrome (CBS), and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). Here, MAPT is linked to frontotemporal dementia.
