The high levels of CCR5 expression have been detected in cancer tissues (Lee and Song, 2015), pushed us to evaluate the implication of the CCR5Δ32 polymorphism in CRC as done for other cancer types including prostate cancer (Balistreri et al., 2009; Kucukgergin et al., 2012a), bladder cancer (Kucukgergin et al., 2012b), gallbladder cancer (Srivastava et al., 2008) and breast cancer (Lee and Song, 2015). This evidence concerns the gene CCR5 and urinary bladder cancer.
