Upregulation of ST6GalNAc4 and downregulation of the core 2 N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase C2GnT2 (Gcnt3) were shown to be key in conferring tumor cell glycosylation changes that contribute to metastatic activity in a primary lung cancer model, eventually by preserving presentation of the T-antigen and adherence to galectin 3 (183).
