Acute headache, primary cough headache, tension type headache, and heterologous headache caused by systemic viral infection can appear in Phase I (influenza like phase) and hypoxia and headache caused by new onset headache can occur in Phase II (cytokine storm phase with an increase of IL-2, IL-6, IL-7, IL-10, TNFα, G-CSF, IFN-γ inducible protein 10, MCP1, and macrophage inflammatory protein 1-α).
