Western blotting was used to detect changes in protein expression levels related to proliferation, cell cycle, and apoptosis in three HCC cell lines and demonstrated that augmented DNASE1L3 expression dramatically suppressed the protein levels of c-myc, Bcl2, and Cyclin D1, whereas protein levels of Bax and cleaved-caspase 3 were raised (Fig. 3E).
