Although the overall correlation between methylation and expression of proximal genes was rather low [49,50], there were nonetheless a number of genes, including the one encoding p16INK4a, a cell cycle inhibitor [51], several psoriasis-associated genes [46], and some genes located in the EDC [49,52], for which methylation status could be correlated with expression level in psoriatic skin. The gene discussed is CDKN2A; the disease is psoriasis.
