MAP1LC3A and inflammatory bowel disease: Upon starvation or other stimuli, Beclin1 is upregulated/activated, leading to the initiation of membrane/organelle isolation and phagophore formation.[43] Further membrane expansion/fusion and autophagosome formation require microtubule‐associated protein 1A/1B light chain 3B (LC3).[44] Therefore, the PERK‐eIF2α/Beclin1‐LC3II pathway may be involved in the pathogenesis of IBD and may become a new therapeutic target for intervention.
