The two molecules showed different bioactivity; they induced an increase in the activity of superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione S-transferase in polymorphonuclear leukocytes; they showed an antimicrobial activity against E. coli and S. aureus, and they had an anti-proliferative effect on gastric cancer cell lines inducing an apoptosis effect. This evidence concerns the gene HPGDS and gastric cancer.
