TNF and liver disorder: A decrease in Vδ2 cells in blood during episodes of exacerbation of liver disease is also reported, with the remaining cells showing increased activation markers, increased cytolytic activity [248,250,252], high production of TNF as well as IL-17 and a variable ability to produce IFNγ upon in vitro stimulation; their ability to produce TNF, correlated with low hepatic cytolysis, suggests a role in liver tissue protection [252].
