The researchers reported that reduced fasting glucose (p = 0.002) significantly increased insulin sensitivity (p = 0.02), and positive alterations in serum lipids (i.e., a decrease in total cholesterol (p = 0.001) and LDL cholesterol (p = 0.001) and an increase in HDL cholesterol levels (p = 0.01)) in comparison to patients taking a placebo; in addition, curcumin supplements decreased the weight of women suffering from PCOS.
