A novel redox-responsive and HA-functionalized chitosan lipoic acid NPs (HA-CSLA-NPs) loaded with cytoplasmic 17α-methyltestosterone showed significantly higher cellular internalization through CD44 receptors with rapid drug release, and enhanced cytotoxicity against CD44 overexpressing BT-20 breast cancer cell line as opposed to CD44 negative MCF-7 cell line [107].
