The level of TNF-α significantly increased at 1 month (p = 0.031) and returned to the baseline level at 3 months postoperatively in subjects with dry eye (Figure 2E); at 6 months postoperatively, the levels of IL-6 and IL-8 declined slightly but were still higher than the baseline levels (p = 0.004, p = 0.047) (Figures 2A,B).
