The expression of LncRNA NEAT1 has been found abnormal in many malignant tumors, including glioma (He et al., 2016), human laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (Wang et al., 2016), gastric cancer (Choudhry et al., 2015), breast cancer (Fu et al., 2016), esophageal cancer (Chen et al., 2015), etc. These studies suggest that the abnormal expression of lncRNA NEAT1 is a key regulator of tumor genesis and progression, and can be used as a potential target for therapeutic intervention. This evidence concerns the gene NEAT1 and central nervous system cancer.
