Under exposure to low-pressure atmospheric conditions, such as pO2 at an altitude of 5,000 m, M2-like tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) activate and significantly increase the population of cervical cancer cells in response to upregulated expression of neuropilin-1 (Nrp-1) and CA IX (Chen et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene NRP1 and cervical cancer.
