Compared with normal tissues, CD146 was upregulated in cholangiocarcinoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, kidney renal clear cell carcinoma, liver hepatocellular carcinoma, pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma, prostate adenocarcinoma, and thyroid carcinoma cancers, while CD146 was downregulated in bladder urothelial carcinoma, breast invasive carcinoma, cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma, kidney chromophobe, lung adenocarcinoma, lung squamous cell carcinoma, and uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma cancers (Figures 1A, B). The gene discussed is MCAM; the disease is cervical squamous cell carcinoma.
