Among non-survivors, biochemical and hematological markers taken at the time of admission and 24 hours before death showed progressive high total WBC count, neutrophil count, lymphocytopenia, low serum albumin, elevated ALT, blood urea, raised LDH, D-dimer, ferritin, and procalcitonin levels and are significantly associated with mortality (Table 7).
