This study recruited 1,008 MetS patients and 1,047 controls in the cross-section analysis, the MetS group and the control group were matched in sex and age (Table 1), and distributions of M55V (SUMO4, SNP rs237025, A > G) genotypes in MetS group (χ2 = 5.026, p = 0.081), control group (χ2 = 0.504, p = 0.777) and the total crew (χ2 = 4.637, p = 0.098) follow the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (Supplementary Table S1). The gene discussed is SUMO4; the disease is metabolic syndrome.
