Taken together, despite the limitation of the current study due to its sectional nature, the data largely recapitulate previous findings on the role of p38β MAPK in mediating cancer-induced muscle wasting derived from murine models (Zhang et al., 2011; Zhang and Li, 2012; Zhang et al., 2013; Zhang et al., 2017a; Zhang et al., 2017b; Liu et al., 2018; Sin et al., 2019a; Yang et al., 2019; Sin et al., 2021). The gene discussed is MAPK11; the disease is cancer.
