These results are in line with previous studies in different experimental models of hypertension, such as stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats [17,25], spontaneously hypertensive rats [26], renal hypertension [27], L-NAME induced hypertension [16] in which peripheral administration of AT2 receptor agonist did not significantly modify blood pressure, but promote organ protection at vascular [16], renal [17,25,26,27], and myocardial level [17,25]. This evidence concerns the gene AGTR2 and stroke disorder.
