NOS2 and Sepsis: Our discovery of the normally intracellular enzyme iNOS circulating in the blood in microvesicles and its relationship to the sepsis pathology as both a specific biomarker for the onset of sepsis and a novel therapeutic target to treat sepsis [6,8] led us to develop a recombinant humanized anti-microvesicle associated (MV-A) iNOS IgG1,kappa monoclonal antibody (rHJ mAb) as an efficacious candidate immunotherapeutic [8].
