SETMAR and cancer: Overexpression of the full-length wild-type SETMAR in the osteosarcoma U2OS cell line is associated with broad changes in the transcriptome that are enriched in pathways connected to cancer, such as angiogenesis or response to hypoxia, and signaling pathways linked to cellular proliferation, such as the PI3K-AKT and the Hippo pathways [21,69].
