Of the total of 28 SNPs studied in the replication cohort, three of them, namely rs13140552 in the SOWAHB (also known as ANKRD56) gene, rs4891564 located in the 3′UTR region of CNDP1 and rs710181 in MYH9, still displayed a significant influence on the risk of DKD, as calculated by logistic regression adjusting for sex and age. Here, CNDP1 is linked to diabetic kidney disease.
