The therapeutic implications of targeting this mutation came as a lesson from the management of BRAF-mutated melanomas, and currently, several ongoing clinical trials are investigating the efficacy of BRAF-inhibitors (i.e., dabrafenib, vemurafenib, or encorafenib) alone or in combination in patients with metastatic BRAF (V600E)-mutated CRC [94]. The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is melanoma.
