Maintaining long-term glycemic control parameters, such as glycated hemoglobin and/or fructosamine levels as well as the treatment with antidiabetic drugs, namely pioglitazone, alagebrium, and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) or sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2) are recognized as beneficial for CAS patients with concomitant diabetes mellitus.
