Since FOXM1 is an emerging therapeutic target in breast cancer, we have explored, in this study, the gene networks and signaling pathways impacted by these inhibitors in inhibitor-sensitive breast cancer cells, and we have investigated cancer hallmarks and signaling pathways that are altered and rewired when cells maintained in the presence of these compounds for long periods of time develop resistance to these agents. The gene discussed is FOXM1; the disease is breast cancer.
