A large number of genes have been identified as hypermethylated in melanoma [41,53,54,55], including O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) [52,56], cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A (CDKN2A) [52,57], and Ras-association domain family 1 isoform A (RASSF1A) [49,58] (Table 1). Here, RASSF1 is linked to melanoma.
