Cell migration studies support the role of microglia-derived PDGFβ, EGF, and SDF1α in Pyk2- and FAK-dependent glioma dispersal: all evaluated cell lines demonstrated enhanced migration under the influence of MCM, as well as PDGFβ or EGF, and this effect was inhibited by Pyk2 and FAK knockdown. The gene discussed is CXCL12; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
