AA, the precursor of LXA4 and PGE2, prevented streptozotocin (STZ)-induced type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus and suppressed plasma IL-6 and TNF-α levels and the pro-inflammatory gene NF-κB to the same extent as that of LXA4 (see Figure 6 and Figure 7). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and diabetes mellitus.
