As discussed, in a recent landmark study, Yu et al. [130] identified S100A10 as one of the predominant genes among 170 genes in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from 11 breast cancer patients, suggesting enhanced expression of S100A10 during the metastatic process and its potential use as a biomarker in CTCs for metastatic disease.
