In both in vivo and in vitro models of Ang-II-induced cardiac hypertrophy, miR-155 is overexpressed, reducing the expression of the inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit epsilon (IKBKE), promoting activation of the nuclear factor kappa- B (NF-κB), inflammation and cardiac hypertrophy [42]. Here, NFKB1 is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
