We finally confirmed in mouse liver that the HFDE group showed the highest levels of the irisin-MD2 complex (Figure 8K), which would indicate the lowest activity of the MD2-TLR4 pathway in the HFDE group, and proved that irisin is a mediator of exercise benefits in NAFLD mice. This evidence concerns the gene FNDC5 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
