In this study, we showed that SIRT3 modulated the deacetylation of CypD to control the opening of mPTP in chondrocytes, which was in accordance with other studies showing that SIRT3 mediated the deacetylation of CypD in aging-related cardiac hypertrophy [20] or breast carcinoma [54]. Here, SIRT3 is linked to breast carcinoma.
