Several studies in hypertensive mice described that, under the pathological stress of hypertension, endothelial-specific deletion of Sirt6 further exacerbated endothelial dysfunction and cardiorenal injuries, indicating the importance of SIRT6 in maintaining endothelial functions and preventing hypertension and its complications by ensuring endothelial function [242,243]. This evidence concerns the gene SIRT6 and endothelial dysfunction.
