However, hepatocellular steatosis and ballooning (Figure 4A) were observed in the liver samples of HFD-fed mice, but they were both attenuated by LJP treatment in a dose-dependent manner, the mechanism underlying which might be the modulation of the fat mass regulators, including AMPK, LXRα, SREBP-1c and FAS, evidenced by the alteration of LJP on corresponding genes (Figure 4D–G).
