Song et al. (2018) reported that DTBP could induce senescence in GC cells through HDAC6 inhibition. DTBP causes mitotic catastrophe and generates multinucleated cells with an increase in polymerized tubulin. Further study demonstrated that DTBP is located at the entrance of the ligand-binding pocket of the HDAC6. The other type of HDAC6 inhibitor involved in GC is TC24. Dong et al. (2018) designed and synthesized a specific inhibitor, TC24, and found that it inhibited the proliferation and motility ability in GC cells but not normal gastric GES-1 cells. The gene discussed is HDAC6; the disease is gastric cancer.
